Seven students from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., were honored in the College Photographer of the Year competition, held at the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Mo., late last year.
The Brooks recipients were Ramsay DeGive (Gold Medal, Spot News); Matthew Williams (Award of Excellence, General News, and Bronze Medal, International Picture Story); Matt Mallams (Gold Medal and Award of Excellence, Pictorial); Brenda Manookin (Bronze Medal, Pictorial); Daryl Peveto (Bronze Medal, Illustration); Elyse Butler (Gold Medal, Personal Vision); and Sam Adams (Award of Excellence, Sports Portfolio).
