Nikon has introduced the new Coolpix S51c digital camera. Designed with wireless sharing technology, the S51c produces high-quality photos with 8.1-megapixel resolution. The 3x Zoom-Nikkor glass lens captures sharp images that can be viewed on the 3-inch LCD screen. To deflect sunlight, the camera has a 160-degree viewing angle and anti-reflection coating. To eliminate shake, the S51c has an Optical Vibration Reduction image stabilization system and ISO up to 1600 for low-light performance.
The camera allows the user to share photos using the One Touch E-mail mode with the Picture Mail button and "my Picturetown," Nikon's new photo-sharing and storage service. Pictures can be downloaded, e-mailed, sent to a BlackBerry device and published to the photo community on the sharing website Flickr.com.
Picturetown has a storage capability of up to 2 gigabytes of images and movies, for memory-card backup. Pictmotion can be viewed on the LCD screen for selection of up to 200 images and music to produce audiovisual shows in VGA quality. The S51c has Face-Priority autofocus and features a One-Touch Portrait button that detects up to five faces in a frame. To shorten editing time, the camera comes equipped with In-Camera Red Eye Fix, D-lighting, Optical Vibration Reduction and Expeed.
Nikon also introduced the S51, similar in frame and form, without the wireless capabilities. Both cameras come with Nikon's Coolpix software and a rechargeable EN-E18 Li-ion battery, and are compatible with the SD and SDHC memory cards.
The S51c retails for $329, while the S51 is $279.
