One of the 19 cameras that Fujifilm announced at the beginning of the year, the FinePix HS30EXR is a higher-end, compact superzooms.

Although not compatible with interchangeable lenses, the HS30EXR does offer some SLR-like features, including 16-megapixel resolution.

Improving on previous models, the HS30EXR now comes with improved ISO capabilities (it advertises 30 percent less digital noise), a 3-inch tilting LCD screen and 30x optical zoom.

The HS30EXR captures 1080p full HD movies at 30 frames per second, and can now be manually focused while it records.

The HS30EXR retails for $499. A comparable model, the HS25EXR, differs primarily in the electronic viewfinder, which uses a 0.2-inch screen and has a 16-degree viewing angle, whereas the HS30EXR uses a 0.26-inch screen and has a 22-degree viewing angle.
