Hasselblad has released the H3DII-39MS, a new digital SLR that eliminates the need to interpolate images and enables both single- and multi-shot capability. The H3DII-39MS combines the technology offered in the 39-megapixel CF-39MS digital back with the functionality and integration of the H3DII-39.
The H3DII-39MS will feature a new RAW converter and will not be film compatible. It will, however, offer photographers the ability to use the digital magazine, which contains the sensor unit and related technology, on a view camera via an adapter.
The H3DII-39MS will include an Ultra-Focus feature that compensates for minute changes in the plane of focus resulting from changes in aperture. The DAC-Digital Auto Correction system offers digital APO correction, digital distortion correction and anti-vignetting to deliver full digital lens correction when used with Hasselblad HC and HCD lenses.
The H3DII-39MS has a retail price of $43,995.
Hasselblad has also announced the release of the H2F, a film-only version of the H2 camera, which it is replacing. The H2F offers full compatibility with H System HV viewfinders, film magazines and HC lenses. The H2F body-only kit retails for $2,799; the H2F lens kit is $7,678.
