Olympus has debuted the E-450, a portable DSLR with a 10-megapixel resolution, a large, 2.7-inch LCD screen, several new art filters and a faster 3.5-frame-per-second sequential shooting mode.

The three new art filters include a color-enhancing "Pop Art" filter, a peripheral light-reducing "Pin Hole" filter and a delicately blurring "Soft Focus" filter.

On-Screen Autofocus allows users to ensure subject focus on the LCD screen before taking any pictures, while enhanced face detection technology targets and locks onto up to eight faces for consistently clear portrait shots.

Other Live View features include Shadow Adjustment technology, which captures details in both bright and shadowed areas, and Perfect Shot Preview, which enables users to try out in-camera filter effects. Improved auto white balance sensors capture more accurate color.

Compatible with Olympus FL-50R and FL-36R wireless electronic flashes, the E-450 can control up to three wireless flash groups at a time.

The E-450 two-lens kit includes the ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 and ED 40-150mm f4.0/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lenses, and has an estimated price of $699.
