With the Z10000, Panasonic has released a high-end, 2D/3D, dual-lens camcorder. The Z10000 also comes with three control rings, dual XLR audio inputs and full manual controls.

Both lenses have a 3MOS sensor (with an effective pixel count of 6.57 megapixels each), which, when used with the 3D video macro setting, records at approximately 17.8 inches.

The Z10000 also has a 3.5-inch 3D LCD, which functions as a 3D viewer without need for 3D viewing equipment.

Other notable features include f/1.5 maximum aperture, 12x optical zoom (2D mode), 10x (3D mode) and dual SD memory card slots. For the first time on a Panasonic camcorder, the lenses feature a “nano-surface” coating that reduces light reflection and ghosting.

When shooting in 2D, the camcorder’s Hybrid OIS helps to correct handshake that occurs when shooting while zooming or walking, in addition to providing horizontal, vertical, yawing and pitching four-axis correction. When shooting in 3D, the system activates Power OIS, which helps to suppress handshake and is especially helpful while zooming.

Sound can be recorded with the built-in microphones, which record in Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound/two-channel stereo, or with the two XLR audio inputs.

The Panasonic HDC-Z10000 will be available in black, and the pricing and availability will be announced later this fall.
