Bruce Forster, the owner of Viewfinders, a regional stock photography agency in Portland, Ore., recently returned from France, where he completed a series of images of Chateau de St. Julian l’Ars. Pictures of the chateau, located on 55 acres near the town of Poitiers, will be used for a marketing campaign to develop the property for meetings and events.
Forster also finished some projects closer to home. His image of workers at the Henry Weinhard Brewery, part of his documentation of the facility as it was closing in June 2000, was accepted into the Visual Chronicle of Portland, a collection of works owned by the city of Portland and managed by the Regional Arts Council.
He also recently documented the construction of the Gregory Lofts, an apartment complex in Portland’s Pearl District. The images honor the efforts of the ironworkers, electricians, plumbers, bricklayers and others involved in the development. Selected photographs are on permanent display in the building’s lobby.
