Fujifilm’s FinePix Real 3D W3 is the first camera on the market to capture stills and 720p movies in HD and in True 3D.
The W3’s 3D imagery is made possible by twin 10-megapixel CCD sensors and dual Fujinon 3x optical zoom lenses (35-105mm). Mimicking how human stereoscopic vision works, these lenses are spaced 75mm apart to create realistic 3D images. With a single press of a button, images and movies can also be captured in 2D. Auto and manual parallax controls allow the camera to adjust for optimal depth in 3D. The camera also offers 13 preformatted scene modes to auto-optimize shooting settings.
Other features include a 3.5-inch high-resolution auto-stereoscopic 3D widescreen LCD, which allows users to view their multidimensional images without the use of 3D glasses. Images can also be viewed through the mini HDMI 1.4 port on most 3D HDTV systems.
The Real 3D W3 digital camera retails for $499. High-quality 3D prints can be ordered online via Fujifilm’s SeeHere.com website and cost $6.99 for a 5 x 7-inch print.
