Pentax has released the new 8-megapixel Optio V20 compact digital camera with a 5x zoom lens and a 3-inch LCD monitor.

The V20, featuring a slim and stylish design, comes with Face Recognition technology, which detects and focuses on faces. The V20 also has a Smile Capture feature, which detects the key facial expression of happy people, as well as Blink Detection, which lets users know whether any subjects blinked their eyes, making it easier to capture human subjects. The camera also features 52MB of built-in memory and an Auto-Macro mode that allows for closeups as near as 4 inches. The Optio V20 is priced at $279.
