The new SP-570 Ultra Zoom digital compact camera by Olympus offers users a 20x, wide-angle optical zoom (26-520mm equivalent), a 10-megapixel resolution and advanced manual controls found in digital SLRs, and the ability to capture in RAW format.
The SP-570 UZ photographs through an f/2.8-4.5 lens with 100x total zoom (5x digital zoom) that combines high-refractive, aspherical and extra-dispersion lens elements. The camera displays images on a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD with anti-glare technology and viewing angle greater than 140 degrees. The LCD includes a diopter to adjust one's own eye strength when not wearing glasses.
High-speed shooting at 13.5 frames per second and a pre-capture technology work together to enable users to capture action before and after fully pressing the shutter button, while the face-detection and shadow-adjustment technologies help correct exposure and detail.
The SP-570 UZ offers in-camera editing tools that adjust photographic effects before capture (Perfect Shot Preview) and after capture (Perfect Fix). Olympus Master 2 software is offered with the camera and delivers editing tools, templates and slide-show creation. The Olympus SP-570 Ultra Zoom has an estimated street price of $499.
