Litepanels has introduced the compact MicroPro on-camera light fixture that doubles the light output of its predecessor, the Micro. In addition to increased output, the MicroPro provides a broader source, which gives a more wrapping, HD-friendlier quality of light. It is ideally suited for mounting on an ENG, DV or DSLR camera, includes a ball-head camera adapter, and also has a threaded receiver which allows mounting the unit directly on a light stand or camera arm.
The MicroPro produces 1.5 hours of continuous output from six standard or rechargeable AA batteries, or more than five hours using lithium ion AA cells. Power can be supplied optionally through a convenient 5-12-volt input jack located on the back of the unit.
A daylight (5600K) source, the MicroPro features an integrated filter holder for attaching diffusers and color modifiers. Filters not being used at the time can be conveniently stored on the back of the fixture. The unit comes with three filters including: daylight to tungsten conversion, 1/4 CT0 warm and white diffusion.
The MicroPro's head measures 5.5 x 3.75 x 1.5 inches, weighs just 10.5 ounces and has a suggested list price of $525.
