Top awards at the 2003 Pierce County (Wash.) Professional Photographers Association semiannual print competition went to two photographers from Strode-McGowan Studios. Kevin McGowan took Best of Show and Best of Commercial Category for his "Combo Platter," one of a series created for Montezuma Restaurants. His associate, Sharon Holcomb, won in the Best of Restoration category for her "Peek-a-Boo Priest."

The PCPPA also awarded Kazuko Wohlers, of K's Photography, Best of Wedding Category for her "Girl's Anticipation." Best of Portrait went to "Nine Lives" by Judy Horn, of Horn Graphics; and "Chinese Ribbon Dancer" by Becky Fields, of Fields Photography, was named Best of Unclassified.
