Canon has added four new cameras to their compact PowerShot line: the SX230 HS, ELPH 500 HS, ELPH 300 HS and ELPH 100 HS. With these new introductions, Canon has created the thinnest 24mm wide-angle camera on the market today (ELPH 300 HS) and their first GPS-equipped compact camera (SX230).

All four cameras come equipped with Canon's HS SYSTEM for improved low-light settings, full 1080p HD video, new Movie Digest Mode and 32 Smart auto scenes. Features of the auto mode include subject detection and tracking, as well as toy camera and monochrome creative filters.

The ELPH 500—the highest-end model of the new PowerShot cameras—features a 3.2-inch wide, touch-panel LCD screen, 12.1-megapixel resolution and a 4.4x optical zoom. This particular model also has an ultra-wide angle 24mm equivalent lens, which can shoot with an f/2.0 aperture, making it easier for users to take better low-light photos without a flash. The ELPH 500 is available in silver, brown and pink and retails for $299.

Details for the other three cameras are as follows:

The Canon PowerShot SX230 features a 12.1-Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS Sensor with 14x Optical Zoom, is available in black, red and blue and retails for $349.

The ELPH 300 HS has a 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, 5x Optical Zoom, ultra-wide 24mm lens, 2.7-inch LCD screen and is available in red, black and silver for $249.

The ELPH 100 HS Digital camera has a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 4x Optical Zoom, a 28mm equivalent lens and 3.0-inch LCD screen and comes in blue, gray, pink, silver, and orange for $199.
