Boasting up to 22x zoom capabilities, Olympus's SP-610UZ lightweight, wide-angle ultrazoom camera comes with 720p HD video capability. Mimicking SLR camera lenses, the compact 610UZ offers users 14-megapixel resolution, f/2.8 aperture in wide-angle settings and f/5.6 in zoom settings.
The 610UZ also offers a variety of new filters to simulate other interchangeable lens features. These "magic" filters include pop art, pinhole, fish-eye, soft focus, drawing, sparkle (a twinkling light effect) and punk (a two-tone effect), and can be used on stills or video. Users can also use in-camera panorama and autofocus tracking.
Like Panasonic, Olympus has also begun to offer 3D Photo mode, which captures two shots of a scene from two different angles to create still photos that can be viewed on a .MPO device.
To enable wireless image uploading, the 610UZ uses an eye-fi card to connect with a computer. The SP-610UZ sells for $229.
