With 18x optical zoom and 14-megapixel resolution, Fujifilm's FinePix S2950 offers a relatively affordable compact camera option with a wide-zoom range.

This particular FinePix camera has a 28mm–504mm high precision Fujinon optical zoom lens. To further enhance images, the S2950 uses "smile and shoot" mode to ensure that the camera doesn't release the shutter until it recognizes the subject's smile. Users can also activate blink detection, which notifies the user that the subject's eyes are closed before or while the shot was taken.

New this year to the S-series are tagging and upload capabilities. Users can pre-tag and organize images and videos in the camera. Once connected to a PC and FinePix studio, marked items will automatically upload to Facebook and YouTube.

The FinePix S2950 has an estimated retail price of $229.
