Eye-Fi has expanded their wireless memory card technology to include instant image transfer to mobile phones and tablets with the 8GB Eye-Fi Mobile X2 card.

Along with the release of this new produce, Eye-Fi will also be publishing accompanying iOS and Andoid applications that will work in tandem with the memory card. Those who already own the previous Eye-Fi Pro X2 cards will be able to upgrade their devices with free “Direct Mode” software, which will allow them to connect with mobile devices as well.

Eye-Fi Mobile X2 cards are available for $79.99. Its predecessor, the Eye-Fi Pro X2 has been reduced in price from $149.99 to $99.99.
