Fantom Drives has introduced the G-Force MegaDisk eSATA+USB high-performance external storage system with multiple RAID options and dual-interface connectivity in 1 terabyte (TB), 1.5TB and 2TB capacities.

The eSATA runs at 300MB per second, but because eSATA may not be available on older computers, USB 2.0 will also work on the hard drives of older machines. Fantom Drives' new offering has RAID built in with configurable disk-striping, disk-mirroring and direct-mapping modes.

The newest Fantom Drives also include NTI Shadow Backup for real-time continuous backup and custom file filtering, version control and drag-and-drop file restoration.

The drive systems are housed in an aluminum enclosure that is designed to dissipate heat. The enclosure features one eSATA port and one USB 2.0 port. The drive can be used on Macs or PCs with an eSATA port or USB 2.0/1.1 interface.

The 1TB MDE1000 is priced at $319, the 1.5TB MDE1500 at $459 and the 2TB MDE2000 at $649.
