Slimmed down to just 23.3 millimeters at its thinnest point, Sony’s α NEX-5N interchangeable-lens camera (ILC) may look odd with a giant lens strapped on its front, but it’s not meager in its speed or power.

Housed in a rugged, light magnesium alloy body, the 5N has an intuitive touch-screen interface and a shutter release time lag of approximately 20 milliseconds, the quickest ILC camera to date.

Olympus Releases Flagship PEN E-P3, E-PL3 Models

Touting itself as the micro four-thirds camera with the fastest autofocus on the market today, Olympus’ new PEN E-P3 features a bright, 614,000-pixel, high-resolution OLED touch screen. In addition, Olympus released the PEN E-PL3, which is essentially a shrunken version of the E-P3: a more portable point-and-shoot — yet flexible — interchangeable lens camera with a swivel LCD screen.

The E-P3 is outfitted with a FAST (Frequency Acceleration Sensor Technology) autofocus tracking system and 35 focus points, and a 60-millisecond shutter response time. Selectable 3x3 focal groups within the 35-point area can also be set when shooting active subjects...

Although traditionally a consumer-level camera, Sony’s NEX line of cameras has recently been outfitted with interchangeable lenses, giving it a step up in the compact camera empire.

Leica has added subtle changes to its redesigned M9-P rangefinder to make it more durable as well as stylish.

This latest rangefinder digital camera is still the smallest full-frame model on the market to date. Mechanically speaking, the M9-P is identical to its predecessor.

In terms of packaging, Leica has made a few changes with the M9-P. For starters, the red Leica brand has been removed from the casing and replaced with an engraved logo on the top of the camera.
