Epson has released the 13-inch Stylus Photo R3000, a single function, wide-format printer dedicated to producing high quality, in-house prints for photographers.
With this line, Epson uses an eight-color ink set, which has been updated to include inks usually found in the Stylus-Pro line. UltraChrome K3 with vivid magenta ink, for instance, allows for more vibrant blues and violets. Along with AccuPhoto HD2 technology, the R300 also produces better black-and-white prints by printing more precise shadows and highlights. All inks are single cartridge ink, so that users can replace individual colors instead of wasting a combo pack of ink.
The R3000 accepts a wide range of papers including 1.3mm thick papers and a border free paper roll, as well as Ethernet and wireless-N connectivity. Images can be printed with a maximum resolution of 5670 x 1440 pixels.
The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 has a suggested retail price of $849.
