For those wanting to skip the lines at the photo processing counter, Epson has released a two new home printers: the 13-inch, eight-cartridge R3000 and R2000 pro-photo printers.
Images are enhanced with Epson's AccuPhoto HD2 image technology, which smooths color transitions and emphasizes highlight and shadow detail to create prints of up to 5,670 x 1,440-pixel resolution.
The R3000 allows a variety of paper options: glossy, matte, fine art, roll and border-free papers up to 13-inches wide and 1.3mm thick.
The R2000 can print on the same paper options as the R3000, however it can also print on photographic and fine-art media, canvas, art boards, and CD or DVDs.
Both printers automatically switch between photo and matte black inks to produce more accurate darks and lights; however the R2000 uses pigment-based inks and cartridges.
The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 has a suggested retail price of $849 and the R2000 sells for $499.
