Canon has added five single-function models to its Pixma photo printer line: the iP5200R, iP5200, iP6600D, iP6220D and iP6210D. The new models feature large LCD screens, compact designs, and full-photolithography ink-jet nozzle engineering. One model offers built-in wireless capability.

All five use the ChromaLife100 system, which can produce prints on select papers that resist fading for up to 100 years when stored in an archival-quality photo album. ChromaLife100 prints had up to 30-year light-fastness when displayed under glass.

The iP5200, iP5200R and iP6600D models come equipped with the Canon ink status detection system to signal low ink levels and to help ensure that the ink tanks are installed and working correctly. The iP5200R can be used both wirelessly (802.11b/g) and wired (Ethernet), and can produce a borderless 4 x 6-inch photo in approximately 36 seconds with the default setting in the printer driver.

The iP5200R model will retail for an estimated $229. The iP5200, iP6600D, iP6220D and iP6210D are priced at $179, $199, $149 and $99, respectively.
