Seven Brooks Students and Alumni to Attend Eddie Adams Workshop
Seven students and alumni of the Brooks Institute will attend the elite Eddie Adams Workshop in Jeffersonville, N.Y., Oct. 10-13. Brooks' Visual Journalism program students taking part include Afton Almaraz, Cole Eberle, Troy Harvey, Justin Wagner and Brett Ziegler; alumni Ramsay deGive and Dylan Isbell also will participate in the event.

Frans Lanting's "LIFE: A Journey Through Time" Makes European Premiere in Genoa, Italy
Frans Lanting's "LIFE: A Journey Through Time" made its European premiere on Nov. 3, 2007, in Genoa, Italy. The Torino Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Carlo Boccadoro, performed the orchestral production chronicling the story of life on Earth through the imagery of Lanting, the music of Philip Glass and the choreography of Alexander V. Nichols. An exhibition of Lanting's images was also on display at the festival.
Danita Delimont Named ASPP Co-President
Danita Delimont, principal of the Danita Delimont Stock Agency and a leader in the digital photo image industry, has been named co-president of the West Coast chapter of the American Society of Picture Professionals. In her new position, Delimont will spearhead the chapter's education program with a special emphasis on licensing and technology advances.

Grant Morris Photo of Malibu Fires Runs as Spread in Time Magazine
A photo by Grant Morris, a Brooks Institute visual journalism student, appeared on a two-page spread in the Nov. 25, 2007, issue of Time magazine. The photo, depicting the devastating Malibu, Calif., fires of October 2007, was also picked up by MSNBC for broadcast.
Peter Hobbs Digrazia Receives Nomination in Photography Masters Cup Contest
San Francisco photographer Peter Hobbs Digrazia was nominated in the Fine Art, Abstract and Nature categories at the Photography Masters Cup Contest, an online competition recognizing excellence in color photography. Digrazia also recently premiered his first show, "Asleep in America," at the Museums of Los Gatos in California.
Amy Gulick Wins Philip Hyde Grant For Tongass Photos
Amy Gulick won the 2008 Philip Hyde Grant for her work in Alaska's Tongass National Forest. The award was presented by the NANPA Foundation, an offshoot of the North American Nature Photography Association.
